IGNOU BTech Admission 2026
Admission process for 4-year BTech undergraduate degree program at IGNOU is going to commence soon for eligible candidates. The application form will be available online at the official website. IGNOU provides courses in distance and online modes of education. BTech is a technical degree in multiple domains, which include Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. University Grants Commission (UGC) has prohibited BTech in distance education mode.
The applicants need to acquire a 12th certification from a recognised institution in PCB or PCM to become eligible for IGNOU BTech admission. IGNOU BTech Admission Eligibility Criteria
For admission into the program, candidates are required to have completed the 12th grade from a discipline board in the stream of science with mandatory subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with a minimum score of 50% or the equivalent.
IGNOU BTech Admission Fees
The University provides admission to the BTech program with an affordable fee range to all category candidates in the January/July session. IGNOU BTech admission fee for 1st year is around INR 1,00,000. An application fee of INR 300 and an INR 400 development fee also need to be paid during the registration process. Applicants can pay the fee by online payment mode with the help of a credit or debit card. These fees are accepted in offline mode too.

IGNOU BTech Assignments
Students can submit BTech assignments on the Indira Gandhi National Open University portal in the first week of October for the December Term-end exam in 2026. Students who have assignments for their subjects can submit them on the university portal or at the nearest Regional and Study Centre.
IGNOU evaluates the performance of students based on their assignments and final exams. Assignments account for 30% of the final grade. Assignments are one of the most important parts of the grade.
